Singer Tung Duong held his live concert "Flying Towards the Sun" at My Dinh National Stadium (Hanoi). The show featured many artists, including composer Nguyen Van Chung, singer Hoa Minzy, singer Phung Khanh Linh, and others, and was staged as a culmination of the 8X generation singer's career. However, holding a solo concert at a stadium with an audience of approximately 40,000 people was considered a risky move by Tung Duong.
All 14 of Tung Duong's previous solo live concerts took place in theaters. Therefore, this time, when deciding to bring the show to a stadium, the male singer faced a different challenge, not only in terms of audience size but also in conveying his music in a large space.
For him, pressure is always a part of the professional journey, forcing artists to strive harder to explore and overcome their own limitations. After 25 years of singing, Tung Duong still maintains this belief as a motivation to continue creating, instead of being complacent with what he has achieved.
According to reports, the official ticket sales for the "Flying Towards the Sun" live concert began at 12 PM on October 28th. The singer's team stated that within just one hour, 8,000 tickets across four areas were sold out. By 7 PM that same day, organizers had recorded 15,000 tickets sold. This result demonstrates the audience's interest and expectations for this largest-scale musical project in the career of the Vietnamese singer, proudly stepping into the future.
Tung Duong is one of the rare Vietnamese singers to realize his plan to hold a solo live concert at My Dinh National Stadium. This venue is usually associated with large-scale music events, placing significant demands on organization, stage design, and the ability to connect the artist with the public in a spacious setting.
Tung Duong's transformation
The fact that 8,000 tickets sold out in the first hour is not only a positive sign for Tung Duong himself, but also shows the audience's anticipation for large-scale concerts organized by Vietnamese artists. However, this also poses a significant challenge, as the artist and his team must meticulously prepare everything from music and stage design to the organization, meeting audience expectations in a performance space with a capacity of tens of thousands of people.
Overwhelmed by the audience's reception, Tung Duong expressed his emotion as he reflected on his 25-year artistic journey. For him, the fact that 8,000 tickets sold out in an hour was a recognition of the public's affection for him after many years pursuing music.
The male singer said that while he used to worry about the niche audience for his music, he is now gradually moving towards becoming an artist widely accepted by the public. The audience's support through ticket sales has also made Tung Duong more aware of the expectations for this live concert.
The singer of "Chiếc khăn Pieu" (The Pieu Scarf) expressed his desire to continue receiving the audience's support in the nearly two months leading up to the concert. The male singer revealed that he plans to bring to the stadium heroic songs praising his homeland and country, alongside pop songs selected from his upcoming album of the same name, " Bay về phía mặt trời" (Flying Towards the Sun) . By combining different musical styles in one program, Tùng Dương hopes to maintain his own unique style while expanding his reach to the audience.
