New Delhi [India], October 31: In India, festivals have always been about coming together, celebrating traditions and sharing good food. From boxes of mithai exchanged with loved ones to treasured family recipes prepared for special occasions, food has long been at the heart of festive celebrations.
Today, these traditions are embracing new flavours. Alongside familiar favourites, beautifully crafted cookies, cakes, pastries and other baked treats are becoming popular choices for festive gatherings and gifting. Whether prepared at home or selected from a favourite bakery, these treats bring a personal and contemporary touch to the celebrations.
This festive season, Pure Flour from Europe celebrates the joy of baking and sharing, highlighting how the quality and versatility of European soft wheat flour can inspire both professional bakers and home enthusiasts to create something special.
A Taste of Italy for the Festive Season
For those looking to introduce a little European charm to their celebrations, a traditional Italian favourite offers the perfect inspiration: Biscotti di Pasta Frolla, or Italian shortcrust biscuits.
Delicately crisp, buttery and full of flavour, these classic biscuits demonstrate how simple ingredients can create something truly delightful. Made with Italian type 00 flour, butter, sugar and eggs, and delicately flavoured with vanilla or lemon zest, they are equally enjoyable with a morning coffee or an evening cup of tea.
Their versatility makes them particularly appealing for festive gifting. Cut into decorative shapes, finished with a light dusting of icing sugar or a drizzle of chocolate, and presented in elegant boxes or jars, these homemade biscuits make charming and thoughtful gifts.
For an Indian festive twist, bakers can experiment with familiar ingredients such as cardamom, pistachios or saffron, bringing together the simplicity of Italian baking with the flavours of Indian celebrations.
